Postcards from Krabi (Editted)

Krabi is a southern Thai province, located at the shore to the Andaman Sea. There you will see solitary limestone hills, both on the land and in the seas (forming islands). These hills I must say is breathtakingly beautiful. Rock climbers from all over the world travel to Railey Beach to climb these limestone hills.

If you have no idea what-so-ever on the whereabouts of this "Krabi" I just mentioned...

Of about 130 islands in the Krabi Province, Ko Phi Phi Lee is perhaps the most famous. Remember Leonardo Dicaprio in the movie "The Beach"?? This movie was shot in Maya Beach circa year 2000.

Yours truly at Maya Beach...

Other islands include Ko Phi Phi Don and Ko Lanta. The limestone hills contain many caves, most having beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. What's interesting in Krabi is that you can kayak into the 'lay caves', lying completely flat of your back in the kayak while the current takes you across the caves. The caves of Krabi are also one of the main sources of Thailand's bird's nests.

Dismal attempt of a Joe-Pop jumpshot in paradise...

Enjoy the weekend!!

Jiajiazi: I went to Krabi by car. Took me about 5 hours from Perlis, and a heck lot of adventure. Accomodation in Thailand is generally cheap. If you stay at Krabi Town, average room with aircond is about RM 40 (2 single beds). RM 60 can get you same room with breakfast. Accomodation at Ao Nang Beach is a little more expensive, but below RM 100. If you do happen to make the trip, don't forget to visit Crazy Bar in Krabi Town for a krazee night's out. Nice Thai songs and lots of nice local girls. Oh, Thai food is simply excellent!

Acrix: Love you loads too man. =P

graceyungsc: Yes, I do drive in Perlis. But best transport here is by motorbike...

The Day You Were Born
By: Faraz Ahmed Menon

The day you were born the day of paradise
When bloom smiles charmingly
Says happy birthday to you
Fragrant blossom of spring

When the stars twinkle twinkle
Says happy birthday to you
The dazzling pearl

When the sky wears a rainbow
Says happy birthday to you
The queen of colours

When the cuckoo sings melodious
Says happy birthday to you
The sweetest of rhythms

When the heart pray of peace
Says happy birthday to you
The princess of hearts

When the soul slumber soundless
Says happy birthday to you
The dream of the dawn

Happy Birthday to you...

Postcards from Perlis

Just some photos to share for the weekend. I'll be making a trip back to Sitiawan today, first time in two months. I'm doing counselling for 2 weeks, and the preceptor is so kind to let me take 2 days leave. See u in Sitiawan this weekend ok (not u, YiJie).

Just before I leave, some photos taken around Perlis for the weekend...

Photos taken in the fishing community in Kuala Perlis. Life is so serene..

Perlis is famous for producing sugar in Chuping. You can see fields of sugarcane there.

Weekends in Perlis

Well.. the exam was over and done. I just can't believe how tough that paper was. No time to finish up all that 5 essay questions.

Anyways, my weekends here are going to return to normal. No more studying on Saturdays and Sundays. So what's there to do here in Perlis?? No Kelvin... I don't go to Thailand EVERY single weekend.

My new hobby... bird competitions!!

View from the Back of a "Tuk-Tuk" Truck

Just a few photos that I have taken in Hat Yai, Thailand to spice up your weekend. If you look carefully at the picture above, the law states that the person who drives the motobike muct wear a helmet. One out of four ain't that bad eh??

Tuk-tuk trucks are the main transportation in Thailand. The trucks in Thailand have 4 wheels, while in Bangkok (just like the James Bond advertisement) have 3 wheels. The usually charge between 15-20 Baths (RM 1.50-RM 2.00) for a ride to your destination within Hat Yai.

Photos of food stalls in Hat Yai. The foods there are delicious and certainly very fresh. The manggo & glutinous rice pudding is simply "gorgeous". And the large prawns, unripe magoes, sweet pineapples, burnt coconuts, tom yam, etc...
Photos taken with Samsung Z400 (2 megapixels) from the inside of a tut-tuk during my first visit to Hat Yai.
Next time, I'll post more photos about my 2nd trip there, where I had some special guests who visited me in Perlis.

Methadone Program

The methadone prgram pharmacist so jimat. He will pour out every single bit of methadone possible from the container. Must be result of his mom spanking him for not finishing up his chili sauce when he was young! I heard Penang GH buying a machine worth RM 15000 to dispense methadone. When is my hospital gonna be so canggih...
Those who have finish their kursus, any tips for the upcoming Forensic Exam??
PS: Are we gonna celebrate Chee Yang's birthday???

Postcards from Kangar 2

Aint this place lovely. Wishing a happy ending to the fasting Ramadhan month and "Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri" to all Muslim friends out there.
To Malaysian angkasawan Dr. Shiekh Muszaphar Shukor, "Eid Mubarak" and safe journey back home. Indeed it was a small step for you, but a great leap for all us Malaysians.
