No Money for a Toothbrush

Wondering why Siau Yong's teeth suddenly looks cleaner lately since she started working in Semporna?? That's because she started diving! Free cleaning of her teeth underwater.

Previously she din have money to buy tooth brush, even though she get EPW!! Haha.

Fish

Sabah is famous for it's fish. These are really high class fish, and will fetch a high price in places like Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore. However, in Sandakan they are considered "cheap".

The photo is a "Seven Star Grouper". For frozen fish (considered less fresh), it will be about RM 50 per kilo. A live fish at the restaurant will fetch up to RM 130 per kilo in Sandakan. In KK, it will be much more expensive. Whatmore if the fish is exported to KL or other countries.

So.. enjoy fish while you're in Sabah!

O- Objectives. These are definite information, INR, lab data and also BP. (yes, we pharmacist measure BP using the sphygmomanometer)
A- Assestment. Whether INR within range, any problems encountered, any bleeding, any missed dose, etc.
P- Plan. Increase, maintain or decrease dose, TCA, etc....

This is one of the shorter SOAPs, so I put this up to protect patient confidentiality.

This is someone who have really helped me a lot during my time in IMU, and also my housemate for 2.5 years!! Sorry cause you some trouble back then, paiseh paiseh... Haha.

I'm still shocked and cannot believe that The King of Pop is dead. He's been around since we were still kids. How can he die so early? Well he's now gone (cardiac arrest?), so forget all those controversies surrounding this man. Rest In Peace MJ. People of my generation will miss you dearly.

Turtles in Mabul

They're waiting for you... Just lookout for them alright. =)

This is a green turtle. There are basically 2 types of turtles in the Mabul area, the green turle and the hawksbill turtle. Kelvin have seen them both!!

Education on Mabul

Mention Mabul Island and visions of swaying coconut trees and idyllic water villages come to mind. And that’s just above the water. Located only about 15 minutes by speedboat from the famous Sipadan Island, Mabul has gained its own recognition as one of the best muck-diving (a term used to describe limited visibility dives at shallow sites with usually sandy bottoms) sites in the world.

Mabul is a small oval shaped island fringed by sandy beaches and perched on the northwest corner of a larger 200-hectare reef. The reef is on the edge of the continental shelf and the seabed surrounding the reef slopes out to 25–30m deep.

Mabul is also renowned for its amazing array of macrolife, making it an underwater photographer’s dream location to capture some of the rarest ecological species on film. Flamboyant cuttlefish, blue-ringed octopus, spike-fin gobies, frogfish and moray eels are just some of the spectacular critters you will encounter beneath the waters of Mabul.

Joe: Mabul is really relaxing, and not like any typical tourist island. There is only one burger stall at night, and 2 "kedai Runcit" (sundry shop) on this island. So, nobody is trying to sell or force you to buy anything. Nights are spent chatting with frens and looking at thousands and thousands of stars in the sky, and not to mention 'meteor showers'.
